The Piston Process
Step 1: 100% automatic inspection of the OD ensures the correct amount of material is applied, thus yielding the finished dimension desired.
Step 2: Computer-controlled application of the permanently banding material.
Step 3: 100% automatic inspection of the OD ensures the desired finished dimension is obtained after process banding material.
Step 4: Apply Permanently banding 100% pass-thru gauging of each finished piston to assure the piston meets functional requirements prior to packaging.
Step 5: Product ready for assembly.

Properties of banding ring can be tested in our company, we have the following test equipment:
Tensile strength testing machine, friction & abrasion testing machine, density balance, coefficient of linear
expansion testing machine and so on.
We also design and manufacture non-standard testing machine which can do blow-off test after banding.
Adhesion test: ring must be tested in shock absorber according to characteristics below:
Piston must have a minimum diameter of groove.
---pressure tube must have maximum internal diameter
---traction force from 4700 to 5390 N and speed=1.5m/s according to condition below
---moment must be applied at the end of piston rod = 3Nm
---temperature = 130/160℃
Ring withstand 10min without deformation on adhesion test.
Properties of the banding ring:
Density = 2.03-2.110g/cm3
Hardness = 57-61 shore “D”
Tensile strength = 16Mpa minimum
